Second Skin Vehicle Build Packages contain the core products you need to turn any car into a luxury vehicle. By combining our high quality sound dampening mats with an extremely effective noise barrier, you're purchasing the best sound and thermal insulation available on the market. The Damplifier Pro mats are 2mm of American made butyl rubber (NO ASPHALT!) and a thick, annealed foil. Luxury Liner Pro fuses closed cell foam and automotive mass loaded vinyl into a 3/8" thick sheet that blocks noise about as well as a double paned window.
Damplifier Pro can be applied to the floor, doors, ceiling, firewall (cabin or engine side), trunk, and hood to deaden the metal and significantly reduce structural noise. Adhesive is included, so just cut, peel, & stick. Each package is designed to cover 3 of those 6 areas at about 60% coverage. Most cars should start with the doors, firewall, and floors - moving to other metal surfaces if you have extra material or want to fully insulate your car. That all depends on the project though, because if you have subwoofers in your trunk, the trunk should be top priority. Recommended metal coverage is 60%, but you can go as low as 25% and as high as 100% depending on the project. Make your life easier by using a Wooden Hand Roller.
Luxury Liner Pro is a high quality noise and automotive heat insulation barrier, which excels at blocking airborne noise (like road, engine and exhaust noise) and heat. The goal is to create an unbroken barrier of automotive vinyl flooring between you and the parts of your car generating that noise, so we recommend using an adhesive and taping the seams together to preserve the barrier's integrity (our Foil Insulation Tape works great) . Prioritize 100% coverage of the cabin side firewall, floors, and trunk area. If you have any product left over, we'd recommend the doors next. Luxury Liner Pro is 3/8" thick, so always measure to make sure you have clearance.
